There are some tiny changes in build 15048, released Friday afternoon, compared to build 15046. Clearly we’re nearing the final stage of Windows 10 Cr

On mine, BOTH feature updates and quality updates have a maximum of 8 days in the GUI under Win Upd. I can make the “disappearing screen” reappear at will by searching for updates then switching pause on and off.

I just ran the spinner up and found that Feature maxes at 365 with Quality maxing at 30 days.

It’s weird because the spinner control has a slider on the right. You don’t see it unless you hover on the right of the control, under the down arrow.

Ah ha! Yes, I see it now. 365/30. Sneaky!!

Perhaps the change to 7 days in this build is for test purposes.ย  It is not uncommon for programmers to change constants or other values to smaller numbers in order to get quick results for whatever they are testing for.ย  With RTM so close, testing with the original/final value might end too close (or too late) for the official release.ย  Once they have verified (or not) that the logic works OK at 7 days, they still have time to restore the intended value (30 days or whatever) in time for RTM.

      Just a thought.

I don’t think we call 1703 RTM. It is only another Service Pack for Windows 10.
The RTM was the July 2015 version known as 10240 or 1507.

My bad.ย  Perhaps I should have said “official release” of Creators Update.

I have just noticed that WSUS has a lot of core updates for Windows 10 Build 15042, which makes me believe that this is the CB release for Creators Update.
All those updates (Windows 10 Feature On Demand) have the date of February, 25 as release date, while the files have the date of February, 22.
Later versions are likely to be the CB release plus CUs released to fix bugs.
It is not normal for WSUS to receive updates for preview versions, unless they are milestone builds.

I downloaded the Insider ISO last night and it was 15042, not 15048 which is current.

I am not currently an Insider, but by what I have been reading, it looks like the versions released after 15042 are tests which deviate from the main product which is likely to have the features already locked.
