These days I am skeptical that Microsoft can fix one thing without creating another problem. Wack a Mole anyone?

I’m running down a report that KB 4570135 – basically, running the Update Troubleshooter – fixes the OneDrive bug. Will keep you posted.

Just a remark: Microsoft provides a workaround for OneDrive connection issues with Windows – but that’s imho not the final fix. As mentioned within my english blog post Windows 10 2004 OneDrive issue: No access after upgrade a missing registry entry is responsible, that Win 10 never sees a successful upgrade finished. The OneDrive and printer issues are a result of. I didn’t see that addressed within Microsofts support article https://t.co/qAZJEMbqao?amp=1 – that is dedicated to Win 10 2004 – but the flaw is located in ALL W10 versions  …

        Another bug in 2004.

Somehow that doesn’t surprise me. Big question is if they’ll fix it in this month’s Patch Tuesday.

I’ve been trying to replicate any issue with OneDrive on my fully updated 2004 OS Build 19041.388 midtower desktop PC to no avail.

This morning I decided to get dicey and I deleted the local Desktop folder in my OneDrive folder, then deleted the folder itself.  Next I left-clicked the OneDrive icon on the Taskbar, and upon opening, it asked me to confirm if I truly wanted to delete the folder, or would I rather Restore the folder.

I chose Restore, and other than my desktop icons no longer being in the order I’m used to, everything downloaded from OneDrive and is back.  Bear in mind that my OneDrive folder is not on the system drive, it’s on a separate partition on a different HDD.

Always create a fresh drive image before making system changes/Windows updates; you may need to start over!
