I just dumped Zone Alarm free firewall because of excessive nagging. It put a very useful “speedometer” in the task bar close to the clock. A small red “thermometer” display showed current upload speed and and a green one next to it, download speed. You could get an easy view of your computer’s “conversation” with the web and I find that I miss it. It’s such a handy thing that I assumed that it would be available as a freebie widget on some download site. Thorough searching has turned up nothing. Desktop displays and plots (not wanted) can’t be seen when the “conversing” app is running maximized, but can be on the task bar. Has anyone seen such a utility anywhere?
