My computer all of a sudden is malfunctioning with “Driver Unavailable, Driver Error” and HP Printer is suddenly “Off Line”. These two problems started at the same time. I tried to solve the driver problem with Sams Drivers. Thankfully I did a restore point because it crashed the computer. I was able to recover with the restore point I made prior to the driver repair by Sams. I have no idea where to go or what to do now as this computer and printer has worked flawlessly for years. Any help is most definitely will be appreciated.

Start by updating the driver. Download from HPs own site.
If that doesn’t work, try the HP Print & Scan Doctor

AskWoody LoungerMarch 29, 2015 at 4:09 am #1497845You might try this Fixit from the Microsoft Fixit Solution Center…
We’re sorry, but your operating system is not supported by Microsoft Fix it at this time. Thank you anyway.

AskWoody LoungerMarch 30, 2015 at 5:53 am #1497974I tried this :
Start by updating the driver. Download from HPs own site.http://support.hp.com/gb-en/drivers/…FU872wodQg8Ang
If that doesn’t work, try the HP Print & Scan Doctor
http://h20180.www2.hp.com/apps/Nav?h…/printer_diag/
The first ran and ran but never installed. Second one I didn’t like all the stuff it was looking at on the computer.
I tried deleting the printer and rebooted but didn’t do any thing, and the last my operating system wasn’t supported.

AskWoody MVPMarch 30, 2015 at 4:38 pm #1498046You should be able to view the printer status page in your browser by entering the IP address of the printer. If that is working you can check if the “port” used by Windows is the same as the IP address of the printer.
To check the “port” right click on the printer and select Printer Properties > Ports. Now expand the first column.cheers, Paul

AskWoody MVPMarch 31, 2015 at 1:14 pm #1498159IP address timeout usually means you are using the wrong IP address. To find what IP addresses your computer can see type the following in a Command Prompt: arp -a
This will give you a list like this:Code:Interface: 192.168.1.74 — 0x3 Internet Address Physical Address Type 192.168.1.70 00-19-fb-42-c8-24 dynamic 192.168.1.71 78-84-3c-5f-16-03 dynamic 192.168.1.73 00-15-99-8e-71-7a dynamic 192.168.1.254 cc-33-bb-9e-ae-40 dynamic 192.168.1.255 ff-ff-ff-ff-ff-ff static 224.0.0.22 01-00-5e-00-00-16 static 224.0.0.252 01-00-5e-00-00-fc static 224.0.0.253 01-00-5e-00-00-fd static 239.255.255.250 01-00-5e-7f-ff-fa static 255.255.255.255 ff-ff-ff-ff-ff-ff static
Put the addresses in your browser address bar and see what you get.
cheers, Paul

InactiveApril 2, 2015 at 12:31 pm #1498407The first time I lost connection to my HP wireless printer I had to connect it directly to my computer, remove and reinstall the printer software there and then the printer again worked wirelessly.
I’ve lost connectivity since then and discovered that turning off my printer and my router, then turning the router and printer back on restored the connection without the major impact of reinstalling the printer software.
