I’ve never had a need for a multi-boot system, but from the history of reading YOUR posts, you may be “up” for this challenge. You might want to see what all the Fred Langa fuss is about by taking a look at BootItNG which Fred has recommended as far better than the PowerQuest products (Partition Magic and Drive Image). The data at the BootIt site says “…..boot from any partition…..” so it might be what you’re looking for and have the knowledge to try. I’ve downloaded a copy but so far haven’t tried it out …..

      A couple of pointers:

      Create a Tri-Boot PC
      and
      linuxquestions.org

A Google for “triple boot Windows 98 XP Linux” brings up many offers – I think in all circumstances XP is interchangeable with W2K (i.e. it should be installed AFTER 98).

I installed such configuration and everything worked fine.
If you have empty hard drive(s), install Win98 first creating a small (2 GB) partition. Then install WinXP, creating bigger (5-10 GB) partition for it. And at the end install Linux, creating necessary partitions for its installation. On the rest of empty space you can create a logical partition for common data files.

      Ok, here it is…

First, set up all the partitions in this order: I found it easier to use the linux version of fdisk to set up the partition.

      1 – Linux boot – 30 mb
      2 – win98
      3 – winxp
      4 – Linux swap – 256 mb
      5 – Linx root

      Next, install 98.
      Then xp

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?…kb;en-us;306559 – to dual boot xp

Then linux, and when you set up LILO orGRUB, you just tell it where the other 2 os’s are. The computer will boot with the linux lilo or grub and from there you pic the OS you want to boot in…

Its not as easy as it sounds but its very possible…

Lemme know if you have any problems
