Needless to say, this is a relatively old computer. I get logged on and mysteriously, it reboots. Only way to stop it is to pull the power plug. I thought at first it was a heat problem, but I recently moved the machine to a colder climate, and the problem continues. Before it dies, the system reports everything this OK.

I don’t know whether its software or hardware. Help, please.

Moving it will not do anything if there is inadequate ventilation. Have you opened the case to clean it? Could also be a power supply problem. Could be a hardware issue too. Can you swap the memory in it with another machine? Or if there is more than one stick of memory can you remove one and try it. Then try the other. Could also be a disk or motherboard issue. You ought to be sure and back up anything you need to save ASAP.

Alas. the computer is in Mississippi, and I’m in Texas for at least the next two or three months. I believe it has adequate ventilation, but I’m not sure. Only one memory stick. I’m thinking a new computer. Thanks, anyway.
