I am a novice at PC’s and Windows versions. Because of no more support for Windows XP, I have just bought a new computer ( win 7) and have tried to do my first windows backup.

When the backup completes I get the following messages

    Error code 0x8100002F
Backup encountered a problem while backing up file C:windowssystem32configsystemprofileCMIdeas. Error: the system cannot find the file specified (0x80070002)

The file is not in the above location, and I can not figure out why the system thinks the file should be there and how to remove what ever link is causing the system to believe that file should exist in that or any other location.

    thanks in advance

As Windows user I always expect some problems when I use built-in Windows tools. Not to spend criticism, just to be mentioned what all Windows components ae subject to different attacks and malware because it is Windows!

So in our institute we are always use third-party free or shareware solutions for different actions instead of Windows tools. For example, for backing up Windows we are using Handy Backup.
