    Hi Woody

I recently got notifications to update my password on Windows 10 (latest version and up to date with updates).  I changed the Hotmail password on line which went ok but then when booting my laptop, It would not recognise my Microsoft password. I then changed my  password again Settings/sign in options/password.  This again went ok except booting still does not recognise the new password.   Windows Mail works ok with the new password.  Any ideas how to correct this?  I have run several different scans which have not found any viruses or pups.

@anonymous ok I am guessing you have an M$ account set up on your machine, rather than a Local account (my preference) here’s a few links:https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/help/12429/microsoft-account-sign-in-cant
At least there’s a few things to try, Pretty much I thought it would Sync when online other wise if you have any Admin Access from any account change it in Windows, then redo online with M$ for the same account i.e. same password. Never been an M$ account fan myself, hence a local user account and just sign in to apps as when Req. Stops the Machine getting taken over by the folks from Redmond. Hope that’s of some help 🙂

Okay please try bullet point number three and please let us know if that works, perhaps the new password has not synchronized with your computer.
