Hi,
This computer had internet connection problems so I took it to work IT. When I am at work it now works perfectly. IT knew I wanted to use the computer elsewhere and were fine with that. We are not required to have a Microsoft account to access our computers.
I tried to start the computer at home this morning for the first time, and could not get past the first screen. I did not want everything to go through a Microsoft account but I did try to create one with a phone number. Got a screen that said “not a valid number in the United States”. It is a valid phone number of many years. Then I tried to create an account using an email account, but so much personal info was asked for I decided to use a Windows 7 computer.
I could no doubt take it back to IT and they would try to find out how I can get past this problem.
If there is a way to fix this problem without going back to IT I would like to know how to do so. IT is very busy and they have already spent a lot of time on my connection problem. My main reason for moving to Windows 10 is for security but I don’t think requiring a Microsoft account for all access is necessarily a good thing.
Thanks for any advice!
