Microsoft has released out-of-band non-security updates to fix a know Windows 10 issue causing blue screens when printing to network printers after installing the March 2021 cumulative updates.

Note they will not be automatically downloaded.

Showed up as a optional update on mine.

I “always” delay patches for a month, as suggested – but I erroneously missed doing that in March (for the first time) on my three pcs (two hp and one Dell) – all now “fully” updated Win 10 except for any patches after the initial installation.

      My symptoms:

      • minutes delay in printing to an hp networked printer.
      • long delays in accessing OneDrive files
      • other delays and errors in working through browsers.
      • need for more frequent reboots.

Should I back out this update and, if so, how?

Should I install subsequent patches and, if so, which ones?

      [No blue screens – yet]

p.s.  It took me 2 1/2 months to partly recover from the Office 10 update debacle 3+ years ago; I sure don’t want to do that again.

Before you uninstall, try installing the optional update offered up in the windows update section?  What specific OS are you running?

I ran all of the available updates on all of the three pcs and they all worked nearly fully well, so MANY THANKS!

So far the one area where “things” are still strange is in opening Excel files.  They open with a small icon is the upper-felt screen corner.  This is the smaller window option, and the other is full screen.  They do not show up (as they always did before, except sometimes the past two weeks or so) in the system tray, where clicking on them produces as reasonably sized window display.

BTW:  The three pcs are about 1, 5, and 10 years old (desktop, laptop and all-in-one, respectively).  First (newest) is SSM Dell; other two are hp.

I figured this problem (tiny web page when opening) out, so no reply needed.

My new issue is LastPass, but I’ll try some more things before giving up on this.
