Patch reliability is unclear. Unless you have an immediate, pressing need to install a specific patch, don't do it. |

[h=1]Windows 10 churning through data, blowing up usage caps[/h]ZDnet by Zack Whittaker

I certainly saw an increased total monthly bandwidth usage whilst testing Win 10 TP. I have now settled down to using the standard upgrade version of Win10 Pro and, although there have been two rather large (2-3GB) updates since the initial installation, I am not personally limited by bandwidth. It is, however, true that thousands of users “out there” are severely restricted by monthly data caps (in fact, in my country there are many who typically have a 2GB monthly cap …a severe restriction as far as having Windows 10 is concerned)

This may be relatively new in Windows, but it’s hardly new – this is a trend with just about everything. Devices, OS, and apps all behave as if everyone had free unlimited bandwidth 24/7. Look at how many apps on Apple and Android are tethered to the internet. Many don’t work at all if you don’t have a connection – you have to log in to use them.
The one big difference here relates to updates. Requiring updates may be a bigger issue than MS appreciates.
