Hi folks,
Business here, using remote desktop access for our Windows 10 Pro users (through a VPN) to connect to Server 2008 terminal service.
We have always used the legacy RDP client, but thought that I should check into the App that can be downloaded (for Free:p). I cannot see any place in the settings for the App to set up local resources (like clipboard and local printers; multiple monitors).
Am I missing some obscure setting location for those things?
thanks

AskWoody_MVPFebruary 17, 2017 at 1:58 pm #1591292By “set up” you mean beyond “Use this PC’s devices when connected to a remote PC: Printer Off/On, Clipboard Off/On etc.”?

AskWoody PlusFebruary 20, 2017 at 2:05 pm #1591508Hi Bruce – I do not even see the “use this PC;s devices…” option within the app. The settings are see are use account, gateway, group, Session settings: start connections in full screen, resizing apps, keyboard commands, timing out, then App settings: show…, help improve.
I feel like I am missing something? -

I feel like I am missing something? My fault, I believe. I got the Windows 8 version from the Store to answer your question (which I’d used before but not recently).
I’d forgotten there’s a separate Microsoft Remote Desktop Preview app in the Store, which will become the Windows 10 version.

AskWoody_MVPFebruary 20, 2017 at 3:31 pm #1591516… but it looks like plenty of suggestions about those aspects have been made at https://remotedesktop.uservoice.com/forums/301635-remote-desktop-for-windows-universal

AskWoody PlusFebruary 28, 2017 at 12:49 pm #1592145Sorry – I have not been getting notified of posts to this thread (plus I seemed to be blessed with catching every virus available this February).
So having read all of these posts – it seems that the legacy RDP client is the way to go (or stay) in the business world.
Just wanted to see if there were any different options in the newer software. 😮
Thanks for the input.Viewing 5 reply threads -
