Good Afternoon,
I am a pensioner and need help please. Its regarding windows 10 splash screen at startup.I have no problems with removing the lock and login screens but just cannot find a way to remove this first screen.I have tried the msconfig and gone into the boot menu and ticked the NO GUI Boot but that has not done anything.I would be very grateful for any assistance you could give me. Thank You.
Kind Regards
Chipbutty

Are you sure it’s a Windows 10 splash screen and not your PC’s OEM splash screen ?

Try booting into the BIOS and check for boot logo.

AskWoody LoungerFebruary 24, 2020 at 11:58 pm #2170907I don’t know if you can disable that screen, because I believe it is coming from the BIOS, before Windows even starts. Open to correction on that. If the aim is to streamline the startup, you can however bypass the login screen – IF you are the only person to ever use the computer, and IF it is not a laptop liable to be lost or stolen. It will submit your username and password automatically, and will continue the startup without intervention. If you understand the security risk and are prepared to accept it, just enter NETPLWIZ into the search box and follow the prompts.

AskWoody LoungerFebruary 25, 2020 at 6:03 am #2170969Hello,
Thank you for the information.I will keep the login screen for security reasons.I was able to remove the lock screen. You make a very valid point.about the bios.In total i have 4 different screens that come up at startup. The first one is a lenovo one which helps me get into the bios and other settings faster. The second was the windows logo one. The third was a lock screen and the fourth was the login screen.I just wanted to shorten the startup procedure.

AskWoody MVPFebruary 25, 2020 at 7:30 am #2170980The Lenovo logo is from the BIOS. The Windows logo is from the Windows startup routine which should require no input and go away on its own fairly quickly. Even if you could eliminate the Windows logo it would not appreciably speed up startup. There is a lot going on and displaying the logo is just to let you know there is activity.

AskWoody MVPFebruary 25, 2020 at 9:38 am #2171017The blue Windows logo comes from the Windows 8/8.1/10 bootmgr. I use the Windows 7 bootmgr, so I see the OEM logo (which is my avatar; I’ve customized the Intel UEFI on my DIY) and the marbles spinning in a circle for a few seconds.
I only see the blue Windows logo on my Windows phone.
Always create a fresh drive image before making system changes/Windows updates; you may need to start over!We all have our own reasons for doing the things that we do with our systems; we don't need anyone's approval, and we don't all have to do the same things. We were all once "Average Users".-
