I have installed Microsoft 365 (Versionย :ย 18.2209.1061.0) on my new PC, running Windows 11 Pro (Version 21h2, OS Build 22000.856), but none of the applications show colors, e.g. I can’t change background colors of cells in Excel. The programs work, but exhibit a very poor presentation. I am used to the supposedly โ€˜inferiorโ€™ 2007 versions, which are, in reality, vastly better.

I have tied loading LibreOffice to see if it suffered from the same problems, and it does. This leads me to believe that there is something wrong with my Win 11 settings, but I have no way of knowing what.

I was perfectly happy with my old PC, running Win 8.1, until Adobe prevented me from running legitimate copies of Lightroom and Photoshop, for which I was paying a monthly fee. They said they did not support Win 8.1, but I was not asking for support. I had a splash screen from Adobe suddenly prevent me from running LR and PS stating that I HAD to โ€˜upgrade my systemโ€™, despite the fact that the versions I was happily running under Win 8.1 were shown as being valid for Win 8.1 on the Adobe website. So, I spent a lot of money on a new PC, since my old one was incapable of running Win 11.

My new PC does run LR and PS successfully, so I now am running my new PC for photo processing, and my old one for all other activities!

    My new PC has:

    12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-12900Kย ย  3.20 GHz processor

    64Gb of installed RAM

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 video card with 12288Mb dedicated video memory, 44926Mb total available

What Office theme are you using?

What happens when you try to change cell formatting? Error message?

Are you using High Contrast accessibility settings? That overrides a lot of color settings.
