Can’t perform a system image backup; see Error Window:

    40342-2015-04-24-03_01_58-Create-a-system-image

Seems if I could find and remove this “remote shared folder” I’d be good. Where can I look?

    Thanks,
    RF

The very last response on this MS TechNet thread indicates that this error CAN be caused by insufficient disk space:

for anyone that is searching for a solution for the “0x8078015b” backup error, i have the solution.

It seems that the target that you should save the backup, MUST have at least twice the free space of the size of your backup.

Had my hopes up wrt the disk space, but no joy. Tried the image backup to two different external drives with beucoup free space and same result. But your link has other ideas I’ll pursue.

Indicates there is corrupted data somewhere on your C: drive.

Run a chkdsk FS repair scan from an Admin-level command prompt:

          chkdsk /r
          (enter)

Then run System File Checker from an Admin-level command prompt:

          sfc /scannow
          (enter)

            That fixed it.

It did the scan on reboot, it fixed some errors, and finally I can make a system image, backup, etc.
            Thanks!!!!!
