Windows 7 media center won’t work

Hi:
I’m running win7 Home Premium and recently bought an XBox360. I would like to be able to stream my pictures, music etc. into the XBox. Have copied down the key from the xbox and opened Media Center on my PC. I enter the key as required but it always comes up saying it has a configuration error and cannot continue. My Xbox is running XBox Live wirelessly and I thought the Windows Media EXTENDER should have been a snap to activate but it has been anything but. I have googled many sites on the internet and have not come up with any definitive way to correct the situation. Can anyone out there help? Thanks in advance.

One thing you say (or don’t say) puzzles me, you presumably have to enter the router key in the XBox but you only mention “copying down the key from the Xbox”. Does the xBox actually appear on your network?

I found this out recently–you must use Media Player, not Media Center to stream content to other computers, televisions and XBox.
