You must upgrade to 8.1 Update 1 in order to continue to get security patches and updates after May 13th 2014.

Microsoft referenced another download which should be a replacement for 2919355 in Windows Update by now (we do not use Windows Update so I am not sure). However this update resolves the issue and was released very quickly for patch managers.

In summary; you need to install 8.1 Update 1 or your system(s)will not get security or other updates in the very near future which would put you at risk. I hope this helps.
