I generally install Windows updates a few days before patch Tuesday, and then pause further updates through the next month. This month was no different. I installed updates over the weekend, and then paused them through the middle of July.
Today, however, a notification on my desktop says that I have new updates to be installed. For whatever reason, the pause didn’t work on my desktop, although it did on my laptop (both of which have Win 10 Pro Version 21H2).
I am absolutely certain that I paused Windows updates on both machines. I distinctly remember seeing the update window on the desktop paused into July, so unless I’m really losing it, it has to be the case that Window somehow decided to disregard the pause setting.
Is there any explanation for this?
Also, I did not install the updates, and set the pause for July once again. Is there anything I should do?
Thanks.
