Windows are opening with just a bit of the title bar and the min/max/close buttons showing. I can move the mouse pointer to the border and enlarge, or even just maximize, the window. But after closing the window and opening another, the same thing happens. This is happening in Word as well as IE, and Outlook.

AskWoody LoungerApril 30, 2003 at 7:53 pm #672516Are all windows opening like that, or just a few applications? If it is all applications, I wonder if you have some sort of desktop organizer that is sizing windows for you.
If, on the other hand, only those few specific applications are causing problems, open an instance of one and resize to a larger size. Then close the program from its resized state. When you start that application again, did it open to the resized state, or the super tiny state?

AskWoody LoungerMay 1, 2003 at 7:14 pm #672756I occasionally have the same thing happen and while I haven’t figured out what causes it, I recall a usually successful solution. When you open the window and it is tiny, maximize it or stretch it to the size you want. Then close the window using File|Exit, not the “X” in the upper right corner. Mine usually reopens in the large size after that. Good Luck!
