You can tick that little checkbox all you want, but I bet dollars to donuts that stupid dialog comes back the very next time you make a change with MSCONFIG!

(Edited by Chameleon on 06-Jan-03 17:21. thanks wylly wylly…..for cleaning up the screen shot…)

you win the bet joy ..you want donuts or dollars …went back into startup to untick something else and there it was………….oh well….there are worse things in life………… thankyou for the help…

From my experience, if you DON’T checkoff the little box, that danged screen shows up EVERY TIME YOU BOOT. At least it did to me, but I haven’t had to change anything lately.

You’re right Al, if you don’t tick that box it will show again and again and again….and if you DO check it, it stays away…..until you use MSCONFIG again. Must be sharing the same code as that stinking QUickTime tray applet that just can’t take a hint!!

Well Gentlemen…..I did tick it the two times that I went in to make changes to startup. But, I haven’t booted since the second change. I am sure all is good and it won’t be back till the next time I change startup. What I hate is when you download something and it just arbitrarily puts itself into startup.. hairout .
              Thanks for the help……… grin

[/indent] Amen To That! Yeah, it doesn’t bother me that, if I change something in MSCONFIG I have to checkoff that box again. It’s kind of a reminder that you’ve changed something.

I had that problem a while back, but can’t remember the post that we discussed it in.
However, I do remember that I got rid of that recurrance by going into the windows prefetch folder and clearing it it out completely. Left the folder blank and the system started to rebuild the prefetch again the right way. (without the config box coming back)
