With the help of this forum and WuMgr, I had installed Susan’s recommended Oct Cum Update KB5018410 yesterday on my Win 10 Pro Desktop PC and then used Windows Updates (WU) to pause updates until December.
Today, I learned that it’s not OK to pause WU if using WuMgr, so I took off the WU pause. Unfortunately it started downloading and installing updates.
I got the PC shutdown but not before it installed one update, and 2 or 3 others were in the process of downloading or installing (Including the .NET updates that Susan recommends deferring.)
What would you recommend doing next?
Is there some way to get rid of these updates? Shutting down the network would be a challenge: the PC is on WIFI from the condo association
Or perhaps, just let them install and just go with them (ie how I dealt with Microsoft’s updates for years before getting involved with AskWoody last year- this approach actually did work OK for me)
Or restoring the system: I have a system recovery image and media from before installing the Oct Cum Update KB501841;
