I have a major problem with the latest load of Windows updates. 5 updates (KB2492386, KB2506928, KB982018, KB2522422, KB2515325) which arrived in the UK on 27 April. Windows goes through the install process and spends ages configuring them on restart before annoucing that the update has “Failed to install”. The error code is 800705b4, the same for each update. I’ve run the update trouble shooter on each error but no joy. I’ve tried a system restore to the point before the update – guess what the roll back failed and the updates still won’t install. Worse still it keeps insisting there are updates and keeps trying and failing. I’ve installed service pack 1 and never had a problem before. Windows Defender updates continue to install fine. I’m running W& home premium 32bit on an Intel core i5. Any advice would be much appricated.
