• Wireless mouse battery indicator?

I cannot find any battery indicator via Settings / Devices / Bluetooth and other devices.  I looked through all the tabs but found nothing that appeared to be any type of mouse battery indicator.

Am I just not seeing it?  A Google search said, it seemed, that there should be an indicator.

    Where?

Your Bluetooth mouse may not have the capacity to advertise its battery status. Lookup your model number on the mouse designer/manufacturer’s site.

The fact is, there are many different ways to report Bluetooth devices’ battery information. But Windows 10 understands only one of them (Bluetooth Low Energy GATT Battery Service). So, if your device is not a Bluetooth Low Energy device (like Apple’s Magic Mice/Keyboards/Trackpads, all of the headphones/headsets/speakers, and most of the game controllers), Windows 10 cannot get battery information of them. Even if your device is Bluetooth Low Energy device, if it uses a different protocol to report its battery information (like the example of Mi Band 2 in the screenshot), you are out of the luck, too.

Does Windows10 [1809+] really show Bluetooth battery information?

I have a Microsoft Wireless Mouse 1000, circa 2012.  It has a very small LED embedded in the top just down from the scroll wheel.  When the batteries get low the LED comes on briefly and then goes off.  If the LED comes on and stays on, it’s time to put some new batteries in.  Very simple, and it still works fine, as does the wireless keyboard that came with it (it has an LED light too).
