    Hi there,

I wonder if someone could help me please, or at least point me in the right direction. If I have posted this question onto the wrong Forum, please let me know.

Some of our Users are on Windows XP SP1/Citrix MetaFrame XP FR3 and using Microsoft 2002 packages. The others Users are on NT4.0 and using Microsoft 97 packages.

The problem is that one of our XP Users printed a document from Word 2002 to a Laserjet 4100 Series PCL printer. When the document printed, there were large gaps missing from the document. I have tried to replicate the problem on my own pc, but the document prints fine.

I understand however that when a User on NT4.0/Word 97 prints the document, there are no problems at all.

All the XP Users are setup exactly the same, and at the moment, no-one else appears to have experienced this problem.

She also had another difficulty recently where she had created an e-mail in Outlook 2002 and it was saved to her Drafts folder. She was asked to make revisals to it, which she did. She then required to print the e-mail off, and only one of her changes was printed.

At first I thought it might be a printer driver issue, but as no-one else has experienced the problem, I thought I might post a question to see if anyone else can explain what might be happening and possibly a resolution.

    Thanks in advance.

I’m not familiar with where the settings are for server-based sessions of Word. Does each user have its own server-based repository of registry keys or is this on the local computer or are there no customizations? This would affect how you might revert the user to default settings…

With respect to the printing problem, were the large gaps blank space where text should have been, or blank space between text that was there? Or was the missing content pictures? Were any tracked changes involved with either the document or the e-mail message?

        Thanks for your reply.

I will need to check with the Technical people exactly where the registy keys are stored.

With regard to the second paragraph, I have checked with the User. The large gaps were blank spaces where text should have been. There were no pictures or track changes involved in either document or e-mail message.

      Teresa,

We had a similar problem with printing WordXP documents. The solution we found was to tick the Tools/Options/Print/Background Printing checkbox. That solved it for us.

        Hi Marie – Therese,

Thanks for your prompt reply. I have checked with the User and this setting is already ticked on her pc (I think this is something that is set by the Policy we have).

        Thanks anyway.
