I saved a Word 2010 document using a field code for the date so it would update when the document is opened. However, I’ve changed my mind and need to open the document without updating the date. (I want to see when the document was sent out last.) Is there any way I can do that?

I use the SaveDate field instead of Date because of this problem.

You could try turning off the option to ‘Update fields on open’ before opening the file. If you have a look at the File Properties to work out the last Date Modified setting then you should have your answer without even opening the file.
