To access my employers computer net work I access a application menu screen using my browser of choice – they all work.

When I select one of the applications contained on the menu screen -Windows Explorer, Outlook, Excel, Word and a mainframe screen; each application downloads a Citrix application packet which fires up the selected application. When I select a 2nd application it also downloads a Citrix application packet and it overwrites the 1st selected application. To perform the functions I desire I need all the applications I select to be usable concurrently.

I can have the applications working concurrently in Windows XP and Vista machines. With W8.1 and W10 I get the operation I have described in the previous paragraph.

Perhaps Citrix needs an update to work properly with Win 8.1 & 10.

The corporation is using W7 as their standard platform for all company work stations. They were all upgraded to that standard about 4 years ago – it is almost time for them to upgrade again – however, all that is in the hands of the IT folks.

I am attempting to Uninstall Citrix, or Delete Citrix from the Program Files so that I can reload a fresh copy.

The system won’t let me do either. I am the Admin for my W10 system.

If the machine is controlled by corporate IT then you are at their mercy.

My machine is my own – not corporate. Upgraded it from W8.1 to W10 last week. I am the Admin of my machine.

Re-install Citrix then un-install should remove it.

On my last job, we logged in remotely via Citrix. I had no problem with Windows 7. However, with Windows 8.x, even though Citrix was installed, whenever I tried to log in again, it would tell me that Citrix wasn’t installed, and did I want to install it. I would tell it No, and it would then allow me to log in as normal.

I can’t remember the name of the Citrix client I logged in with. It wasn’t Citrix Receiver, because Citrix Receiver never did work right on my computer.

The only other Citrix problem I ever saw was when someone had Citrix installed for another institution, and they then tried to log into our site. It appeared that the settings from the other institution took precedence over our institution’s settings. The solution was to uninstall it, then reinstall it with our settings. The downside to that was, it was unlikely that the user could then log into the other institution on that computer.
