Good morning! Maybe I’m being premature asking this, but has anyone noticed that WuMgr is not loading recent updates this morning? I have been trying to do my updates and when I access WuMgr it just seeks for new updates and never loads them.  Anyone else having this issue? Maybe everyone trying at the same time??

Any way around it – redownload or a way to launch it directly from the site?

      Some suggestions:
Restart the computer (not shutdown/power up).
Check Windows Update and be sure you don’t have Pause accidentally set.
Check Services to be sure the Windows Update Service is not Disabled.

This morning around 9:15 EDT it took over 3 minutes to complete a scan for updates, but it did complete.

Thanks! It worked fine when I was checking updates yesterday – not won’t load new ones on either of my laptops.

I did restart, haven’t touched Pause (though it says “Pause updates for 7 days” – which I think it may always have said) and not sure where to check Services.

Any work around for this or way to reboot it?

You could download the updates from the MS Update Catalog and manually install them. But if it was working yesterday, I’d just wait a while. You have more than two weeks before the next Patch Tues. – plenty of time.

And – after about 2-3 minutes it loaded this time! Whew – and thanks for the replies. We’ll see how long it takes to actually work now LOL!!

ETA – took about 9 minutes to download and install KB5055578 and KB5055683, and then about 3 more minutes to restart after the downloads.

Will give it a try on my other laptop later on.

Thanks for the help and sorry to have possibly jumped the gun a little, but seems that it is running a little slowly!

W10 22H2 … I’m watching (Twice) WuMgr’s eternal Searching with No Results, also. THEN, after nearly 4 minutes it produced data for Installed and Hidden Updates. I did the CU on schedule so no new Updates were expected.

A few things to bear in mind when using WuMgr:

It’s update scan connects to the same Microsoft servers Windows update uses.

It doesn’t display Installed/Hidden updates until it finishes that scan.

I just ran it on my own PC and it took ~3 mins to finish the update scan and display the results.

BTW, the most likely cause of such slow response times for WuMgr is either:

1- The Microsoft update servers are very busy.

2- There’s a high level of internet traffic between your PC and those servers.

3- Your particular service provider is experiencing connection problems.

Since “multiple users” are seeing a slowdown, it pretty much rules out #3 as the cause this time around.

      (Windows 10 22H2)

This morning I saw atypical slow response from wushowhide when I went to hide updates ‘available for download’ before imaging my system in preparation for installing the April updates. Typically the scan for updates takes less than a minute before coming back to display what is available. This morning it took several minutes, maybe pushing 10 (I didn’t time it).

After a restart the two updates I asked to hide (KB5055518, KB5055683) were gone from the ‘available for download’ list.

I just now ran wushowhide again to unhide those two updates. The scan and ‘fix’ took about 20 seconds this time. I assume both KBs will show as ‘available for download’ again when I start up my PC tomorrow.
