AskWoody LoungerI know this is obvious but did you uncheck the run at specific time box? I would think that then you could set the “run every” option.
Disclaimer i do not use AVG.

AskWoody LoungerYou will find that Windows built in image program is not very popular on this site but i have used it for several months and never had any problems with it.
When you come to the screen you are describing above just hit next. Do not check ether option. it will then start the restore process.
I do this everytime i make a new image and have never had a problem.

I am not sure how you saved it as a theme but i had a similar problem and clicked on my desktop picture in the bottom left set to fill and clicked save changes.
I haven’t had any problems since. Is this the way you did it?
BarryI meant to say in personalization i clicked on the desktop picture in the bottom left.

AskWoody LoungerDecember 31, 2012 at 5:22 pm in reply to: Vista upgrading to Win 7 – can I make a slipstream disc after the upgrade? #1365510You can get a full official download of WIN7 with SP1 from digital river (I don’t have the web site handy but you can Google it).
If you ever need to use it you just enter the Key code from your upgrade.
However i agree making a image is a far better option.
Windows 7 has a built in program to make a image under the back up options if you don’t want to use a third party program.

Yes I believe you are correct.
Any body else using the preview version with CCleaner and have you had any problems?
BarryP.S
Ted
I took your advice and downloaded Last Pass. I have been using it for about a week.
Its a nice little program and almost makes it a moot point with the issue I am having with IE10.
Thanks for the heads up.

AskWoody LoungerJust wanted to give a quick update on this problem. It appears to be a compatibility problem between IE10 and CCleaner.
I started noticing that despite not checking the box to delete cookies and adding my favorite sites for CCleaner to save every time I ran CCleaner I would lose all of my saved passwords.
I looked at their forums and sure enough there are posts about this.
as much as I hate losing my favorite tool I uninstalled it a couple of days ago and have had no problems since.
I am not sure if this is just the preview version for windows 7 or if it also affects windows 8.
according to the forums CCleaner normally will not fix any issues until the final version of IE10 is released.Barry

When I started my computer this morning all the sites that should log on automatically did. I don’t know if it was unchecking the cookies option are adding the cookies in CCleaner but something worked.
Once again thank you and the all the other people who contribute to this forum. I have learned many good things from this forum over the years.
I was a longtime reader before I joined in 2010.

Thanks for the advice. I unchecked the Cookies option in Browser history and went ahead and deleted all the browser history.
After making sure I was logged into all of the sites I mentioned I shut down my computer and restarted it. All the sites were still logged in.
So far So good but I forgot to mention in my first post that this problem is also somewhat sporadic. Sometimes it will go a day or two and it seems if the problem has gone away then IE will forget the passwords again. I post back in a day or two and let you know.it has been so long since I deleted cookies in CCleaner and there were so many I just deleted them all. I will start adding all the sites I want it to remember while its a bit more manageable.
Last while I never let IE remember any of my financial or shopping sites I will look again at a password manager.
the last time I tried and I do not remember who it was it seemed quite confusing for something that I am not really worried about.
I have been using a PC for 25 years and thanks in no small part to this forum I fill like I use pretty safe browsing habits.
But as we all know all it takes is one time.

AskWoody LoungerI have had the same problem with IE 9 on my yahoo home page. You read a article and hit the back button and instead of sending you back to the same place you were it takes you to the top of the page.
Since I installed the preview of IE 10 it seems to have gotten worse. I am starting to see it on other web pages besides Yahoo.
I checked all the settings and don’t see anything obvious that would apply.

Thanks for the info. I tried the steps in the scenario 2 that Clint supplied the link to but no go. I had also read that if you create a new folder with the name of the missing one it would fix it but again it didn’t work.
I had rightly assumed it wasn’t doing any harm but I am somewhat anal when it comes to things like that.
I just do not understand why it is trying to back up files that have long been deleted.

AskWoody LoungerGlad to see I was not losing my mind. I looked everywhere on my computer and searched the web and the only thing I could find was the article ted referred to about it downloading the same version as your operating system.
On my system it shows two process running
iexplore.exe using about 10K of memory and iexplore.exe*32 using about 67K of memory. I assume this was what Satrow was referring to.
I don’t know if this means both are running at the same time and which on is the default.

AskWoody LoungerThat’s the problem. it doesn’t.
It shows version 10.0.9200.16438 and references KB2718695. No bitness.
I know in IE9 this would indicate 32 bit but I don’t know if its the same in IE10.
I assume you use the 64 bit IE10 in WIN 8. I have read that they are totally different browsers but just out of curiosity what dose yours indicate?

AskWoody LoungerI am confused on what flavor of IE10 was downloaded. I have WIN7 64 and one article I read said that it would download the same version as your operating system.
On Microsoft’s download center it appears that you can download ether version but both show the same version number and reference the same KB article.
If anyone knows how to tell the difference please let me know.
thanks
