      Try the following –

Right-click on the drive and select Properties.

Select the Recording tab, and check the settings.

is likely implying that iPhones don’t have the issue, since the reply was to “If at all possible, don’t do any banking from a smartphone“.

The trace made it to the end-point (smtp.gmail.com).

It could have something to do with Google’s “Less Secure Apps” policy…

What Are “Less Secure Apps” and Why is My Gmail Not Working?

Open a Command prompt and run (copy and paste) the following…

      tracert smtp.gmail.com

Note: It is normal to see “Request timed out” along the route.

We’re looking to see if it happens at the endpoint.

You might try the free Haselo Backup Suite.

I use it for folder and file backups, and Image for Windows/Linux for full drive images.

You might try optimizing your SSD drives, and defragging your HDD drives occasionally.

That can be set up on a schedule in Defragment and Optimize Drives.

If you’re backing up to a USB drive connected to a USB 2.0 port, you’ll transfer at that speed.

Microsoft apparently can do “NOT that simple”…(Windows, .NET, SQL Server, Azure, et. al.)

They should be able to figure out how to fix a defect without causing users to change their partition size.

Nope. WinRE.wim is the file that gets mounted as a virtual drive. That is what allows WinRE to work on the OS drive, because it’s doing it from the virtual drive in RAM, not the HDD or SSD. Boot.sdi does the mounting and assigns drive letter X:

Looks like the Deskmodder article references Windows 11 24H2, which is still an Insider Preview.

Features come and go before release, so it may be a little early to pull the fire alarm.

If it fails, note the time that it happened.

Open the custom view, and sort the entries by Date and Time, newest to oldest.

Look for an entry or entries in the time frame you noted.
