The application doesn’t look nasty, especially as they want you to buy it.

Have you looked in Add/Remove programs for the uninstall option?

      cheers, Paul

Bob, FF doesn’t show the whole page, IE does. It’s the bit at the bottom that FF doesn’t show that you need.

Tony, the Seagate site lists the hard disk types that are affected. Download SeaTools and check your disk. If it’s affected the fix is firmware SD1A.

If those people all use the same ISP it could just be an IP address that was sending a lot of spam and was black listed.
You should use an email provider who does not remove spam / use black lists, or at least allows you to let those emails through. then you can manage the spam yourself.

We run SP3 on 2500ish PCs where I work and it’s fine. I run it at home and it’s fine.
There are some problems, but that is why you backup.

There is an automated HJT analyzer here.

There is a very knowledgeable lady at this site who can spot HJT problems in a flash.

      And BleepingComputer.

Have you tried sending yourself email to those addresses?
Do the email systems you use have built-in spam filtering and have you logged onto those systems and checked the spam folder?
Have you logged onto those email systems and checked in the inbox?

Haven’t got O2k3 in front of me at the moment so I can’t check these suggestions.

Is the rule “after the message arrives” correct? Is there a “When message arrives” option?
I don’t think running the rule manually will work if the rule has already been applied to the message. Maybe test by setting the rule to also move the message to a test folder so you can see if it has been applied?
Is Exch2k7 patched? It seems to have been RTM way too early.

You will need to tell us what you have already before we can give you a definitive guide.
      How many PCs?
      What type of internet connection?
Do you have 3 floors in a brick house?

      cheers, Paul

    • in reply to: Physical Hard Drive Number Assignment. #1197149

This is determined by the order in which Windows “sees” the hard disk controller and attached drives.
The easiest way to have this disk appear as the last disk may be to connect it to the last SATA connector on your computer.

What forthcoming XML problem? XML is just text that your application interprets.

    • in reply to: Dead hard Drive… Data Recovery Help #1197146

The firmware I am using successfully is SD1A, so I would update immediately.

Nice to see that Seagate are offering free data recovery for affected drives. Makes a change for a company to admit a problem and then offer free what is normally an expensive process.

      cheers, Paul

[Edit] The Seagate site needs to be viewed in Internet Explorer.

    • in reply to: Router as repeater WPA? #1197145

Why is the speed cut in half? As long as the repeater is able to repeat faster than your PC can send/receive data then you will see almost no degradation.

Here is a simple guide. Not sure it’s all that you need.

RR, what have you not yet found on the web?

I don’t think you will have much luck. I suspect the military have good comms but personal comms will remain very poor for quite some time.

      cheers, Paul
