    • If your using FF, try the Dark Reader addon.
White backgrounds become Lt. Grey which helps.

      Might I ask too?
Have two old working PC’s, W95 and XP.
Could I perhaps using portable HDD Raw Copy Tool, turn these into VM’s ?
First onto a W7 64 ultimate. Have IDE and SATA external cables.
Never having tried using a VM…
      Thanks

      Kinda No so for me.
Blue screened a W7 64 bit ultimate in it’s normal update it now. (had always worked)
Had to download a installer on another pc. It too Blue screened. 2nd install try worked.
Nothing found amiss on it. Was a wtf..
Was way faster 🙂  page secondary loading gone.
      NoScript was disabled.
      Leaving only Ghostery 🙁
Next? Some trusted sites still use flash.
No idea how to allow in 52 is me.

Worked for me too. Brother’s Toshiba Satellite laptop, W7 home prem 64.
Was the only one that had the WU prob. Just the 1st KB3172605 steps fixed it.
      Thanks all Roger

      IPS monitor and me
For years had a 27″ 16×10 CCFL monitor with CFL ceiling bulbs. No probs.
Not so with the new IPS LED monitor.
Changed to LED ceiling bulbs, helped my eye fatigue.

Wanting to move a W7 HD from a AMD 2 mobo to a AMD 3+ one, or to a intel.
And a XP HD from a dead AMD 2 mobo to make a image of for a VM, just permissions?
A very dim XP memory is me. Roger

    • in reply to: VM Question #1528719

When I stated “NO I do not want to boot from the old XP drive” was for a OS dual boot, not a VM. Sorry..
Disk2vhd instead of VMware player12 ? Be nice not to have the old XP boot drive attached after.
Xfer just it’s C: with the 2 installed pgms. to a faster HD or ever the boot SSD ?
      More to learn. Thanks All

    • in reply to: VM Question #1528163

NO I do not want to boot from the old XP drive.
      What is HAL?
No VM installed yet. Leaning towards VMWare Player. As never used one. needing to learn more about.
      Steps I think;
Re attach the old XP boot drive. Insure that W7 64 has full access to it’s C:
Install VMware player12 to the ‘old” XP drive. as FUN suggested.

    • in reply to: VM Question #1528008

      So old is me, aside..
My XP mobo died, no prob. 1st attached it’s HD to my new W7 64 build. Copied its 2nd partition no prob. to a new HD. Did not try the C: yet.
So could I reattach the sata2 XP boot HD for a VM to boot from. Was my question.

    • in reply to: VM Question #1528005

Did you mean to say that a VM install can boot from my attached XP drive?
      Thanks
