I clicked on the link you refer to and was taken to a site dealing with Canada. Part of the text is as follows:

“Sincere apologies for posting what seemed to be TWO memos. My memo was ARRESTED by QuikCop — and as I had had previous dealings with this person, forwarded my “arrest” notification to ____, list administrator (who) PROUDLY told me he has this person as a subscriber!!!!! Also, he did what I would not do — he clicked on a certain line — affiliated my address with QuikCop. Do we need QuikCop butting in on census postings? I thought it was bad enough with a certain person in Ottawa. Also, I had been advised by several list administrators of high renown to STAY AWAY from this site.”

Thank you, Ken. Now I am truly confused as that is in no way my website. I guess I will just ignore these Quik Cop e-mails then.

I appreciate your help so much. I waited to reply so I could look at other spam; I received two, this morning. There is no message that images or text were blocked. The weird text of one is:

I set up Mousetrap as directed. Now I keep getting the following message from OE: “The connection to the server has failed. Account: ‘mail.hal-pc.org’, Server: ‘localhost’, Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E.”

      Any suggestions?

I use the free versions of Zone Alarm and AVG, plus my server offers Postini. Most of the spam is e-mail directed to http://www.rootsweb.com, but comes to me as the administrator of a list. For some reason, the spam is focusing on only one list, and I administer three! I forward every single blasted spam e-mail to Rootsweb and Postini, but they cannot seem to stop this flow of spam. This is somewhat understandable as the perpetrators of this spam keep changing their names, e-mail addresses, subject lines, misspelling key words in a variety of ways.

You are a GREAT help! I never would have figured this out… well, perhaps after suffering through much angst and going through a bottle of Tylenol. Again, thank you! clapping
