In the copy of the document that I have for testing, I do not see the “Remove personal information…” at all.

Is there anyway to get the original reviewers names back in the track changes after they have changed to “Author” in the document?

      Thanks for the suggestion, Charles.

We do have the text that goes into AutoText in a separate document. We updated that glossary document to look like the text we want in AutoText. We copied the text section from the glossary to the template, pasted in the section of the template, reselected the text section from within the template, and created the Autotext entry to override the existing AutoText in the template. We thought this would save if we made the template “dirty,” but that didn’t work.

If we deleted the Building Block Gallery Content Control and recreated it, all was well.

We will document this method of updating the AutoText and BB Gallery Control for our staff.

      Thanks for the help

Thanks for the references. In previous versions of Word we did use the AutoTextList field. If we cannot get the Building Block Galley Control to work as expected, we will try the AutoTextList again.

Thanks for looking into my issue.

I just checked Building Blocks from the blank Word document. The paragraphs are not in the Building Blocks or Normal templates. They only are listed in Building Blocks when the template itself is open or a document created from the template.

Sorry that it has taken so long to get back to you. Thank you for the information, but we are still having the issue. After following the links, the Trust Center, Privacy Options, “Remove personal information from file properties on save” is grayed out and not checked.

      Any other ideas?

      Thanks, JJ

We had used rich-text controls. If we chand to plain-text controls, will the formatting for the style control the plain-text control? I think that most of the form fields are using Normal style, but there could be other styles used within the document.

      Thanks, Andrew

There are some documents that we use tables for the Formtext. This particular form doesn’t seem to work with tables. Each row has different number of fields or different length of fields.

I tried this with the fields and saved the document. When I use the form and enter data, the underline for the field goes away. If I select the line area and as you suggested turn underline off and on, the underline sticks for the field.

Our users are telling us that there is no tilde file in the network folder where the file is saved. In Word 2010 is the default autosave file saved someplace else?

Sorry it has taken so long to get back to the lounge (vacation).

I like your idea. This document is a template, which used to work in Office 2003. I will need to do a little redesign to try this. I’ll let you know how it works for us.

      Thank you, Anne.

      Thanks, Martin.

I am not up to speed using VBA. I see from the code that Interior.colorindex will set the color, but there could be different colors on the worksheet. When we enter a formula that refers to a cell on a different worksheet, we want the color of the cell containing the formula to be the same color as the cell the formula refers to. Any ideas?

I think that the information on the owner file explains what is happening. We just need to look for the tilde file before trying to open the original file.

      Thank you, Pam.

      Thanks, Anne

If I follow the steps in a one cell table, the picture fits in the cell. Our table has three columns and four rows. The picture goes into the right-hand column, which has all the rows merged into one cell. I cannot set the row height to a value, because it changes the first row for the entire table. Any other ideas?

Our network administrator checked the file status using Hyenna. The file was open, but Microsoft is reporting the wrong name. Does anyone know where Microsoft picks up the name from?

I checked with our IT department. We do not have anyone using the 64 Bit version of Office. We do have about half of our employees using 64 Bit computers, but everyone uses the 32 Bit version of Office.

I checked with the user with the issue. She and others have the issue with Word or Excel.
