I think I have found the answer, well it is working fine at the minute.

      here it is

      1. Close any Internet Explorer or Windows Explorer windows that are currently open.
      2. Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button and then clicking Internet Explorer
      3. Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.
      4. Click the Advanced tab, and then click Reset.
      5. Select the Delete personal settings check box. In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, click Reset.
      6. When Internet Explorer finishes applying default settings, click Close, and then click OK.
      7. Close Internet Explorer.

Your changes will take effect the next time you open Internet Explorer.

      I disabled all plug-ins

I did not seem to made a difference

Does this happen on all web sites or a particular few?
IE8 starts OK and sometimes it starts to load then at 25% or 75% it just stops, but not every time.

Does it happen immediately after you start IE or after you’ve used it for a while?
      No pattern

Have you tried running IE with addons disabled?
The plug-ins below are the only ones enabled.
      AVG Safe search 12-12-2009
      FDMIEcookiesBHO class 10-8-2009
      Java (TM) plug-ins 2 ssv Helper 25-7-2009
      JQIEStartDETECTORImpl Class 27-7-2009
Diagnose Connection Problems Enabled but not Available 14-4-2008
Discuss Enabled but not Available 14-4-2008

If this is a recent occurrence what have you changed on the system?
My wife as a computer and the same plug-ins are the same but she does not have the problem.
I have not changed anything it started about two weeks ago.

      Hi PT

You mean turn the page then adjust table to size of paper then adjust each row?

    • in reply to: Black Tool Bars within IE8 #1207377

I have found one way of getting rid of the black for a longer period of time, but it still comes back.

On my wife’s Acer laptop the menus on Internet Explorer keep being blacked out.

I go right click on the desktop and Properties / Themes / and it is on Windows Classic Modified, that is when the menus and blacked out. I have tried to delete it but the delete is greyed out.

I change it to Windows Classic and the blacked out menus are gone, I then add the desktop Autumn and then save as Jeans set up, this is saved by default in My Documents.

.I have done a search to find Windows Classic Modified but it found nothing.

But it seems to change it self, at no set period of time.

I have scanned with AVG, also Malwarebytes Anti Malware and found nothing

Can anyone tell me where I can find Windows Classic Modified so I can delete it or how I can remove it, with a bit of luck that should but an end to it. Themes are generally stored at C:WindowsResourcesThemes but not Windows Classic Modified.

I run windows XP SP3 fully up to date with IE8
