I thought of that as well, but to prove to myself that it was not this, I copied the first cell Bus # into all of the other cells with the same Bus # – and it still happens.

      John,

I just reread your message and saw the inks at the bottom of your message which I had missed before. Now that I see these I am more confused. I guess I need to search for someone that either has successfully set up VPN on a Windows XP home machine or at least has Windows XP home and can confirm that when attempting to setup VPN that the VPN dialog box is grayed out as well.

Thanks for your post, John. None of the links that you offered had any direct mention of the VPN differences between Windows XP home and Windows XP professional. So now I am starting to think that there is another problem.

I had one in there (but did not type it in the message). Word just wanted to display 0.3765…).

I finally got it to work by using the suggestion of one of the other loungers to have Word ‘confirm conversion at open’ and to use DDE. I don’t understand why representation of time is so difficult in a mail merge doc.

      Thanks for responding.

Thanks, John, for the clarification on the shortcuts to files and folders. Maybe some MSFTer can explain why MSFT made it so difficult!

Ah Ha! You solved it! The trick is to send a web site link to the desktop then drag that into the shortcut bar. But it really disturbs me why Microsoft would eliminate this functionality without really telling anybody. I wonder why they would do that? It was so easy in the past to set up your major web sites and to use Outlook as the browser for your simple surfing needs. Maybe Microsoft does not want Outlook to be used as the browser in the future for some reason.

      Thanks for your suggestion.

Thanks Hans – I knew it was something that was simple. When you only do this once in a while, it’s hard to remember the shortcuts!
