      Hi Joe,

Can you suggest a number to set the temporary cache files size to be?

      Thanks,

      Marilyn

      Hi Jan,

Thanks for the tip. Actually at some point in time I knew that, but it’s amazing how the memory doesn’t always work when under stress 🙂 Maybe your little reminder will stick with me for awhile.

I have to say I am a big Microsoft fan. Been using it ever since I started using computers ten years ago. And as much as I hear about its “bugs”, the only “bugs” I have found were in my own head. 99% of the time when there is a problem, it is user generated (at least in my case).

      Thanks again for the help,

      Marilyn

      Hi John,

I just returned to make a note I found the very “white space” setting that you mentioned. If only I had discovered it before obliterating all my customized settings. I am assuming there is a good reason for this white space setting other than to keep some of us busy rebuilding our customized menu bar?

I should have just bitten the bullet and come here first to get this simple answer from a much appreciated guru 🙂 You guys and gals save me time and time again.

Thank you so much for keeping us out of the mire 🙂

      Hi there,

Well, I tried the first way you suggested and that didn’t work for me either. Never got to the second suggestion. I rarely find a need to save a graphic file that someone sends me. Normally they would come as an attachment. So it’s just easier for me to send it to someone who uses Outlook Express and have them send it back. In the meantime I will pray a little prayer to the MS God and hope that he comes up with a fix for this.

      Thanks,

      Marilyn

      Hi Kate,

I’ve just been using corners and shadows myself. And I found that sometimes you have to click on the cell where you want the corners or shadows and then click on the image of the corner or shadow a second time for the change to take effect. Just play around with it and you might find what it takes for the changes to take place.

      Hi,

Actually I can edit objects quite quickly. This particular Word Art object adds a shadow to the font, which I like. And I find that when placing an object in gif format that has a shadow on top of a textured background on a web, the shadow distorts. I’ll give it a try though. FP will also allow you to choose what you want to be transparent and sometimes that works even better. I’ll give both a try.

      Thanks again,

      Marilyn

      Hi there,

I checked the code and it was not the positive way to handle this. So I simply used Snag It to capture the text and then converted it to a .jpg. Since I have a textured background, the .jpg file replicated the background behind the text better than when I saved it as a .gif. This did add a little download time to the page, but not that much.

      Thanks for your suggestions.
