The Corel Gallery 1,000,000 I have does have a lot of black and white material – both line drawings and filled items. No idea where they might have originated. Only references cited apart from Corel sources are Image Club Graphics Inc, One Mile Up Inc, and Techpool Studios Inc.

The package with 12 CDs and a very useable printed catalogue is only $20 (Canadian)- I think it’s a pretty good deal. It also includes Corel Photo House and WebSpice.

I have Corel Gallery 1,000,000 – should keep me going for a while.

Best way to move a clip art into Powerpoint is to use the Corel Gallery browse tool, find the items you want, right click on them, and then save in your appropriate folder – my documents, my photos, or whatever.

I found trying to save them in the Corel Browser in its favourite folder didn’t do much, as the thumbnails were only a generic Corel Photohouse icon.

    • in reply to: Palm IIIxe #521247

Once you’ve reinserted your batteries, the Palm should be back to the out-of-the-box state – i.e. only the built-in applications available, and no date – just like doing a hard reset.

I would highly recommend you purchase BackUpBuddy from Blue Nomad software – make this sort of a situation just too easy to correct.

    • in reply to: Palm Sync With Outlook Bad Email Addresses #1780736

I had a similar problem when using a Palm with my desktop on a comnpany network using Outlook. If there is a company address book on the system, when syncing the “Outlook Reserved” tag will show as the e-mail address. That is, if on the global address book you would click on “Mary Smith” as the person’s name, while underneath that the correct e-mail address would be “mary.smith@disneyworld”, or whatever, the Palm syncing process would show either Mary Smith or Outlook Reserved in the slot on both the desktop manager and the handheld itself.

I was told by a systems type that Intellisync could be configured to correct that, but that the Palm syncing program couldn’t.

Datebk 4 is an outstanding product which I’ve been using for a couple of years now. It can be configured in more ways than can be imagined – there’s a discussion group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/pimlicodatebk/messages which will give you some idea of the incredible capabilities of the program.

It now also works quite well with Address+, a replacement for the built-in Palm address book, which is similarly much more powerful than the built-in.

Thanks for the suggestion – I’ll have a look at the site.

    • in reply to: Palm V – Palm 4.0 Desktop #517616

You might want to post the question on this users group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/palm-talk/messages – lots of Palm power users there. I have a IIIxe so I can’t help you much. I’m using Desktop 4.0 with no problems at all.

    • in reply to: Win Me Restore #517698

I’m certainly not the Window ME expert, but I did have to use the Restore function a couple of weeks ago. It worked just fine, and took only slightly longer than a cold reboot.

Sorry I can’t be of more help.

    • in reply to: Address Book Profile #517112

I had this problem at one time too and got some good advice from my ISP helpdesk. As I recall, the problem is that Internet Explorer is not recognizing Outlook Express as the default e-mail program. Try the Tools/Internet Options menu on Exploere and select Outlook Express as the e-mail service. IF it doesn’t appear in the dropdown menu, you may have to reload either or both of IE and OE from the Microsoft update site. No great problem, and in doing so, you’ll be prompted at some point to identify the default e-mail program.

    • in reply to: sync/time problem #1779409

I had that happen too – Palm showing one hour ahead of PC after hot sync. Problem seemed to be in the Time Sync add on that comes with BackypBuddy. If you have “adjust for Daylight Savings Time – DST” enabled, it automatically adds the hour without regard for whether you’re in DST or not.

I disabled that, as the PC with Windows ME automatically accounts for DST anyway, and the problem no longer occurs.

Maybe I’m missing something in what you’re after, but isn’t the simplest solution simply to open two browser windows and adjust each with their corner arrows to the desired size?

    • in reply to: Moving House #516192

Sorry – should have added that it’s also a conventional POP mail server with standard mailbox/server IDs.

    • in reply to: Moving House #516191

Thanks – that’s not a problem. I’m on a cable modemm connection – no particular software required on my computer, just a network card to take the video cable connection. I hope at the far end to have a cable connection again, or alternatively an IDSL line which I understand uses the same network card.

Or, alternatively to the shift key, press F8 and then use the arrow keys.

    • in reply to: Problems with OE 5.50 #515241

Thanks for the advice – I’m now using both Zone Alert and have run AdAware, plus Inoculate IT Personal Edition. Talks bout practising safe computing! I’m almost feeling I should be wearing surgical gloves to touch any of the components…
