    • BRILLIANT! I knew I forgot something simple. I’ll be trying this with the client to see if it helps. Unfortunately, I’m in Connecticut and he’s in Canada, so I can’t easily check the pag settings, but I’m guessing the From Edge may be the issue

      That’s it!

      Thank you so much.

I’ve attached a dummy, very simplified spreadsheet.

On the second tab is the ‘data’. I need to summarize it, by using a formula, on the first, summary, page.

I’m guessing there must be some type of If (james) then sum the amounts for him in the specified cell. That’s what I’m looking for.

Wish I could explain better, but I’m a true novice at these type of formulas.

      Thanks again for the help.

I thought that would be the only solution. Thanks for the confirmation.

I don’t need to keep the tracking of the old document, I don’t even want it.

Actually, the problem is when opening the older document, it is full of redline/strikeout text. I want that to go away and not come up when I open those older documents at any time.

In the past, I’ve had to open the older documents, accept all changes, save the document. This stops the redline/strikeout from showing up when I open it again later. I don’t necessarily need to have the track changes working for the ‘new’ document. I just want the mark ups to stop coming up when I bring up the ‘historical’ document.

      Thanks again

There may be something set in your AutoCorrect and/or AutoFormat list. You can check there as well.

      John:

That’s what I was afraid of. I could find nothing online in KB or in my Office 2003 Special Edition book. You would think they would give you the option to keep your signature on your out of office message. I guess that would be logical…

      Thanks for the input

I did try that prior to posting. The ‘newest’ post I found was from 2 years ago. Thanks anyway

    • I had the same problem with Office 2003 – turns out I had TWO installations on my machine – XP and 2003. It was defaulting to XP, but when I tried to get to the 2003 versions, it wanted me to install the program. Hope you’ve found the answer.

We’ve just started using OneNote quite extensively in our office. My boss swears by it and I’m starting to get hooked.
I haven’t seen the book as yet, but it’s on my ‘wish list’ for Santa to bring – it’s called Microsoft Office OneNote 2003 Step by Step by Peter Weverka. I found it on the Barnes & Nobel site. The ISBN is 0735621098. Couldn’t hurt – the Step by Step series isn’t the best, but it’s not horrid either.

That makes a lot of sense – I’ll be speaking with the client before the end of the week. I’ll have him try that and keep my fingers crossed that it is that simple!
      Thanks again.

It seems to be fine here – that’s the problem. I have no copy that doesn’t work properly. I was wondering if someone knew if there was a setting that would ‘update’ the letter wizard from the Office 97 version to work properly with Office 2003. I know I had this issue come up with clients moving from Word Perfect and early Office Versions to Office 2000 and XP. I just can’t remember where that setting was.
      Thanks for your help.
