Thanks for the additional information. Until you guys helped out, the only articles I was able to find mentioned nothing about the CALs with the initial purchase. I figured Microsoft was going to make their money back on the price reduction by making the client buy the licenses just like Windows Server. crazy

Thanks for the link. That’s the first one I’ve seen with what looks like legitimate information.

I had a similar problem of reminders kicking on only on certain days. It turns out I had some Alarms set (how, I don’t know). Check in Settings – System – Clock – Alarms. Couldn’t hurt…

A brilliant, and easy, suggestion! I don’t know why I didn’t think of it myself (probably because I’m just back from vacation – body is back, mind isn’t)

      Thanks again!

As you just upgraded to XP, maybe other things were upgraded at the same time? We had a similar problem when we changed our antivirus program. It would try to scan everything being saved back to the network even though it was opened from the network to begin with. Once we told the program NOT to scan things being saved to network folders, things speeded up quite nicely. (Just ensure both your server(s) and workstation have antivirus protection before doing this!)

While I don’t set up networks, one thing you might consider is that NT4 won’t be supported by Microsoft. W2K is and the new version, .NET (I think) is due out end of year/early next year. Our network was upgraded to W2K a while ago with no ill effects. We’ve also done it for most of our clients as well.

      Nothing’s blown up yet

OK, I was wrong. One is Exchange, the one I’m having the problem with is an IMAP

    • in reply to: Page numbering svcpack (Office2000) #614731

What is the problem? Is the numbering the wrong type (Roman numeral instead of Arabic)? Wrong place (top right instead of bottom center)? Sections are numbered incorrectly?

Both accounts are Exchange accounts. It happens for both internal and external emails going out. Incoming is no problem. There are 15 other people in the office and none of them are having the issue. (I’m just special, I guess.)
I’ve just installed SP2, but it didn’t help. The next step is probably an uninstall/reinstall of Outlook – unless you have another idea?
      Thanks.

Just tried installing SP2 to see if it would help any. It didn’t
The next step, if no one comes up with a better answer, is uninstalling/reinstalling Outlook. I’m not looking forward to that at all!

If you’re using a field (SUMABOVE), it just needs to be refreshed. (Right click, Update Field)

I have no rules against the second email at all.

      Lief:
What is happening is I have two accounts for two different entities at the company I work for. The first is debbie @company1.com the second is debbie@company2.com. When I try to send from the company2 address, it goes from company1. I’m receiving email with no problem and, if I use Outlook Express for my company2 email, I have no problem sending. No one else in the company who has dual addresses is having the same problem. As Yul Brenner once said, it’s a puzzlement.

    • in reply to: Page numbering in Mail Merge is incorrect (XP) #609062

I did try updating the fields, still didn’t work. I’ll see if the service release for 2002 addresses this as well.

      Thanks for the information.
