The “aha” factor just kicked in! Thank you Hans…I like that solution way better than my very messy looking formula!

Thanks Rory (and Steve). Rory, I had considered a lookup table after reading about it somewhere but wasn’t sure how to get it going given the “greater than or equal to” and “less than” parameters. Although I have this formula solved now, could you give me a point in the right direction for future reference on how I could do this?

      Thanks!

Thank you Hans. Parentheses can really mix me up sometimes…I appreciate your explanation!

Thanks Hans…I was afraid that was going to be the answer. Back to the drawing board with the mail management dilemma!

Good suggestion and I just tried that – it still results in this error. Very strange as I have another similar workbook that I send out weekly and it has roughly the same amount of recipients…it works fine. However, I guess I’ll just make a distribution list in Outlook to resolve this one and get rid of the macro. Thanks again for your suggestions.

Hi Hans – restarting my system didn’t make the problem go away. As I’m not that well-versed in code, is there something in the following that is creating this error?

      Sub Mail_384_Report()
      ActiveWorkbook.SendMail Array(“address”, “address”, _
      “address”, “adress”, _
      “address”, “address”, _
      “address”, “address”, _
      “address”, “address”, _
      “address”, “address”, _
      “address”, “address”)

      End Sub

I’ll restart my system tomorrow and post back with the results…I have a feeling that you are right about this one. Thanks!

Thanks Hans…well this is strange. No, I don’t use a userform. It’s just a spreadsheet that I email to people every week and the only thing that changes on the spreadsheet is the numbers. As I said, I did add some names in the array but I can’t see that being the problem. Maybe when I go into work tomorrow, the computer genie will have mysteriously fixed this:)

      Many thanks to both!

Thanks Stuart! I didn’t even notice the lights on the wireless receiver as it is pushed to a back corner of my desk and semi-hidden from view…you are correct – that’s where the indicator lights are. Makes perfect sense now that you mention the battery drain part. As to the backlit issue – well, to me that was just a little perk anyways as I always end up typing in a darker room (my preference) so I won’t return it just for that as I do like the unit(s).

Oh heck…I’ve seen the problem. I thought I could skip over the part where it asks for a password. Apparently that’s what it wanted to work properly. So sorry!!!

    • in reply to: Digital Phone Question #1053235

John, thanks very much for that concise response. We have an appointment with another tech (yet again) on Feb. 28th…I think when the poor soul arrives I’m going to hand him your post.

I know this service is relatively new to our area (about 3 months) but it just bugs me that the cable company hasn’t covered all troubleshooting points on this one. I would have been plenty upset if we had actually been dumb enought to rip out the beautiful lathe and plaster walls to get to the phone wires just to find out it was a frequency issue with the router/phone! And I swear if I had to repeat my story to one more phone tech person I was going to scream hairout

As usual, my thanks to all for helping me with this troublesome problem!

Thanks Al. I wondered where the best spot for this post would be…wasn’t sure if it was even related to networking so I hedged my bets and chose Scuttlebutt. Good point about the expiring threads though. Didn’t know that!

Thanks all. Dave, the computer is never turned off – runs endlessly. The most that happens to the computer is that is gets a soft boot from time to time. Now the modem in question is the property of the digital phone company and they have in fact replaced it even though they didn’t think that was causing the problem…they were just going through the process of elimination.

MM, thanks for your scenario. I’m starting to think that there may be some weird interaction going on here with the phone and wireless router. The problem is that it is “intermittent”, a situation no one likes to see. I believe my digital company is at the point where there are trying to tell us that we need to completely re-wire the phone wires in our home (which isn’t possible – 100 yr old home with plaster walls!) in order to make this thing work. I find it interesting that at no point has any one of the 4 different techs that have come to our home mentioned anything about the wireless router being a possible player in this problem.

As to the physical setup, the house cable goes into the phone modem; another cable runs from the phone modem to the router. Additionally, another cable of sorts runs from the router into the computer.

Ick…it really does make my head spin!
