AskWoody LoungerWork around was specific to application, a different download that didn’t require the installer.
Yes, a number of the fixes I tried involved the safe mode so I’m familiar with the aspects of using it. But appreciate you notes about it.

AskWoody LoungerMay 28, 2016 at 1:33 pm in reply to: Visual Studio 2015 “Diagnostics” compiler options have disappeared #1565531Thanks for the quick reply JoeP.
It was included in PGI compiler download. The help info says it is Version 14.0.25123.00 Update 2 so sounds like it is later than the problems you note.
In the short term I’ve just added “-Minfo=all” to the compile command line.

Joe
Thanks Joe. Worked great.
I should note that it also fixed the “Upgrade to Windows 10” that had appeared in my laptop’s update control panel. That wouldn’t allow me to check for Windows 7 updates, it just set there and spun when I told it to look for updates.

AskWoody LoungerInitial/new installation with no language choice, should have been English.
At reboot after the first part of the install error message simply said it could not find what language to install (the language package). Prior to that, nothing was ever said about a language during the install and it did communicate during the install.
Have installed Windows7 a number of different times on different computers and never seen this before.
An additional problem is that this is my sister’s computer and install was being done remotely (I’m 3000 miles away). Remote installs have work many times before as an Adm.

AskWoody LoungerI should note that what I said earlier isn’t accurate, the Windows logo appears first then blank screen for hours. I assume avz is running.

AskWoody Loungeravz.exe that was downloaded from Kaspersky to run. It starts after a reboot.
