I can’t get to the PC yet today but on my own machine that changes the grouping of the icons but I’m not sure it will affect my problem. If you right click on your Pc/laptop icon you will get the top half of the window I displayed above, and if you right click on a printer you get something like the bottom half … in my case I get them merged into one.
I’m concerned that I can ‘Remove Device’ for the machine itself! That looks like it only appears for printers on my own machine.

I’ll report back when I can try it on the machine in question.

I’ve seen a very similar message when attaching to PCs using Teamviewer. Any remote access going on?

I think you’re right – I’ll un-install all media/DVD players and codecs, then start with the latest WMP and see if I can just get the WMP DVD codecs, and see what happens.

Shame about Ning as I tried a couple of sites there in the past – it was a good idea.

Try Yuku/ – it does the same as Ning – free communities – but you will have to put up with ads.

Facebook is an interesting idea – has anyone achieved a separate community site within FB?

I’m also surprised Susan missed Teamviewer. I’ve used them all over the years and TV feels the best so far.
