Code works perfectly. Got it assigned to a macro button. Thanks very much. If either of you are ever in my part of Texas, I’ll buy you a soft drink of your choice. bow

It worked just as you said. Thanks a lot.

Could I ask a follow-up question? I would like a macro to mark a message as read and delete it in one keystroke or mouse click. I can do macros in Excel pretty well but not in Outlook. Is there a reference I can go to so I can try to figure out how to do this? Thanks again.

Thanks a lot. I will check it out tonight and report back.
      (It’s my home PC.)

      Thanks for the quick response.

Yep, tried that, doesn’t clear everything. I’ll look at the “HistoryKill” site. Thanks.

Guy, thank you! Yes, it does work. An elegant solution, turning the problem sideways a bit to get the job done. Thanks again.

    • in reply to: Pivot table – counting instances (Excel 2000 SR-1) #534667

Right, Hans. But as I understand it, that method figures percentages within the field. I want to to divide the count of one field by the count of a different field and report that as a percentage. That’s why I created two pivot tables. I can get the job done this way, but it’s very tedious and I am concerned about errors with all those Vlookup formulas. Does that make sense?

Hi, Catharine. This is my PC at the hospital – Windows 2000, build 2195. 256 MB memory, plenty available from what My Computer reports. I have to leave now (1641 CDT) and will check back in the morning. Thanks.

Good point about the print setup. I’ll change that. Thanks for checking, Andrew! bow

    • in reply to: Borders disappear (2000 SR-1) #534496

Right, Andrew, I see it when I’m just typing data and pressing the Enter key, and not all the time. It prints the regular gridline, just as it is displayed. We’ll try the attachment again here.

Preston and Tracy, thank you both for responding. Tracy, your suggestion on using subreports will work, I believe. I ran some tests yesterday and the combined report looks like what I was wanting. Thanks again!

      Andrew, thanks a lot (again)!

Andrew, thanks for the code. I added it to my personal.xls file just in case I need it some day, and I probably will. Could you post the code for doing a count instead of a sum? Thanks.

    • in reply to: Disappearing buttons #1780198

I read this solution somewhere but can’t find the source now. I had a similar problem with my own toolbar customizations disappearing, and some buttons having nothing to do with macros. The default toolbar, Excel.xlb, is stored in each user’s personal settings folder. (The folder name varies with what version of Windows you have.) Each time I make a change to my toolbars I save a copy of Excel.xlb to another name (Jim’s toolbar.xlb or whatever) in the
C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOfficeXLStart folder. It loads after Excel.xlb so I get my changes. I’m not sure this is much help but it might give you a clue. 😎
