    • in reply to: Problem with file properties #714815

Hi. The files aren’t on a network unfortunately. My computer is a ‘stand alone’ nuts n bolts job that has served me well for years. I would use system restore but in my infinite wisdom I disabled it based on advice I was given. The problem itself is not the end of the world but is annoying none the less as I use the function frequently for quick info on files I use in video editing which tend to be large. Thanks for a reply and more are welcome from anyone with any clues – Michael

    • in reply to: Splitting a large file #685870

Hi, I guess the problem here was solved but thought it worthwhile to add that I have used a free program called HJ Split for many years now and have found it simple and 100% reliable. It splits and joins files easily and allows setting spans. Best of all, it is merely a .EXE ( nothing to install ). If you are making the discs for someone else, include the .EXE on one of the discs and the other party can use it to join the files. Man, does this sound like an ad or what ? I should be in marketing. Anyway, hope this helps readers.

    • in reply to: Another autorun Q #685866

Thank you for a quick response, I appreciate it. I found a program at Tucows called Visual Autorun that I believe is what I needed. While it is a time limited shareware version it should let me at least work out how the autorun.inf is put together so I can then write my own. Thanks again.
