AskWoody LoungerTried that. Did NOT work. I think that there is some kind of path problem to all the installed components.

RE: SRX010827601506 – WD2002: File-Open FunctionalityJerome,
It was my pleasure to work with you on your Word 2002 issue. I hope that
you were delighted with the service provided to you. I am providing you
with a summary of the key points of the case for your records. As we discussed, I have submitted a wish to have the file-open functionality
able to revert to the previous ability, in that the entry of a letter, word,
or phrase will pull up all files with the letter, word, or phrase in the
title. There are additional troubleshooting resources available at
http://support.microsoft.com/support/word. If you have comments about the
Word technician who helped you, e-mail them to:
v-2anneg@Mssupport.microsoft.com. Thank you for choosing Microsoft.Sincerely,
Cris Atkin

AskWoody LoungerAugust 26, 2001 at 11:51 pm in reply to: File open does not return matching fiels OFFICE XP (Office XP) #539131Yes I do not see matching or partially matching files. For instance I have 5 files with larry as part of their name. And I type file open and put larry then no files show up on drop down box. If However i have a file namely just larry.doc then it will load that file.
This is true with excel, word and powerpoint in office xp. Not the case with my office 2000
