Noticed you did not suggest using the “Hidden Master Administrator” to make changes for this issue.

      Thank YOU Browni,

Many excuses, too many other happenings at that same time and could not devote much to reviewing them, yes, there was a second one little over an hour later formated readable. Too many excuses to be able to have done much . . also know we have some very sharp eyed people on here that could explain what had gone wrong. First thought was my email client had a ‘heart burn’ or something . . after attempting to make a logical message of that mess decided to ask here. Had not thought of that issue.

Do not use my Browser for reading email because there are so many other issues that can get involved, do not want to fight that. My email client is very good at displaying things as they are sent so that was ruled out in the beginning.

Thank YOU so very muchly . .

I received an unformatted email from MS at 18:19 local time and received the same email properly formatted at 19:33

Did you receive the second one?

One of the moderators will move this to a more appropiate board i they think it’s necessary.

Greetings from the Great Country of Texas,

Reference: “BillP Studios WinPatrol (free/paid)” is not the keeper of WinPatrol any longer. Now Bret Lowry has it using WinPatrol Dot Com (just add the appropriate symbols and punctuation) as his website. Also provides WinPrivacy and WinAntiRansomeWare that are really GREAT! This change took place about two years ago.

      “Tracey Capen,”

An ERROR in your article, “Windows Secrets’ ultimate utilities list — 2015” listing under “Total System” second item “BillP Studios WinPatrol (free/paid).” Just to inform you of a change that took place about December, 2014 with WinPatrol, sold to Bret Lowry of Ruiware. Has it still in full operation (free/paid) and still working GREAT! Also has two (2) other programs out both in 64bit, WinPrivacy & WinAntiRansom also doing GREAT! Presently am using all three (3) on my system. The downloads can be found at https://www.winpatrol.com/mydownloads/

You seem to be knowledgeable about your computers, IF I may make a suggestion for you to have some software to use when you want to know about usages of your processor by unauthorized programs. I use Mark Russinovich’s “Process Explorer” which is FREE from his website, SysInternals, or even on Microsoft’s website. If you would like to use it just PM me and the website location will be provided. I have used it for many years and it is simple to use with a very short learning curve that goes with just about any software.

Excuse me, PLEASE? I am now stopping my monitoring of this thread, as my system is now back to normal and not giving any issues after completing my posted NO! NO! NO! action. That first removed software, ?WinAntiRasom” was reinstalled and have had several updates to improve usability along better monitoring of my registry files and ALL are now normal. Have NOT had any issues with slow-downs.

Have a HAPPY NEW YEAR along with better computer operations . .

Thank YOU, SpywareDr for this info. Was not aware µSoft was using this as NAGNASTYNAG ware. There is not any indication as to what it is for, so DELETE eight (8) and HIDE one (1).
Also did a search for ‘Windows Update’ and nothing about KB3035583 AND did a search for that KB3035583 with NOTHING found.

    • in reply to: Windows 7 MASSIVE Slowdown (no longer intermittant) #1542477

Greetings from the Great Country of TEXAS,

Sounds familiar to me, mine started about a year ago. Typing just was not really what you wanted to do, some times a couple of lines could be typed and NOTHING on the screen, STOP and watch then suddenly it would catch-up then all over again. Made many investigations into what it could be . . NO HELP! About two (2) months ago a friend told me of similar issue with his computer. Took his advice and started looking into what is running on my system, using Mark Russinovich’s “Process Explorer” and my processor was running 100% with NO Idle Time. The one that was using the most was WinAntiRansom, some new software. Removed that one and it cleared up, Back To Normal. Next day all back again with MBAM Premium now guilty two (2) copies with different PID#s without any SCANS being done. Removed that one and back to normal, next day Avast! FREE was guilty, NOW JUST WAIT A MINUTE! I frequently work in the Registry and started looking to see what was being started when booing, all seemed normal. Then there is something under HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE with what looked like GARBAGE in the DATA fields of the rite-pane. The title for that KEY was a mixture of digits plus the names of the entries in the rite-pane were alpha-numerics AND the TYPE for a couple of them was REG_BINARY with ASCII characters, upper/lower case characters, music notes, et ceteras . .

Found this in four (4) different areas and none tied to any program running on my system that was NOT already entered within the KEYS for those programs. The GARBAGE KEYS entries were EYE-WASH? Distraction? After posting to several forums with questions and getting NO replies I did A NO! NO! NO! and removed those keys, yes DELETED them. I DO NOT recommend doing this, I was desperate. Finally received a message from one forum telling me to DELETE NOTHING, OOPS! DID their testing running several different programs that needed to be downloaded that would create reports for them to review. GEEKS-TO-GO was the forum, I apologized and complied with their information and did the testing. From what I could extract from some of the reports, ALL IS CLEAN and NORMAL!!

What it boiled down to, IMHO, there was some BINARY files entered into my REG files that were running some of my SECURITY software, sometimes multiple copies of the same program using up my processor time, just being a pain.

NOW have that first mentioned program monitoring my REG Files to alert me if any unauthorized entries are made.

Prior to doing any of the testing the Processor temp had risen to 141°F and was told NORMAL temp is 120 – 125°F, now mine is running 95°F to 105°F with 89% – 98% IDLE Time.

AS I have said, ‘do not do this method of removing things in the REG Files as you can do more harm than GOOD!’ My system is running MUCH better.

    • F.U.N. downtown,

Greetings from the Great Country of TEXAS,

Just was HOPING to receive a good report, as most of my settings go along the line with Windows nothing special. Have done all my own installs, except for the very first one that was already installed. Windows 95 first version, only Home installations. Very curious about my system’s oporation. Have even corrected an issue that Microsoft told me the only solution is ‘Reformat reinstall starting all over agin.’ Never happened ! ! !

    • Greetings from the Great Country of TEXAS,

Does it make any difference if the system is built by some organization like Dell? Will things go any smoother? Just having an IMAGE backup be AOK? I know all of these questions are exactly the same, just wondering as I am NOT any sort of a special type person, IT, GEEK, et cetera

Also am wondering if there will ever be any ebooks out like “The Windows7 Guide Vol 1&2” for Win10?

    • in reply to: Windows PowerShell stopped working error message #1536497

Excuse me, please? There is a discrepancy in your instructions and what I am finding on my DeskTop, “Win7 PRO SP1” does NOT have any listing for “Windows PowerShell” under “Windows Components” nor any “Scripts”. In place of “Windows Components” should have been expand “Systems” going to “Scripts” then right pane click on “Run Windows PowerShell scripts first at user logon, logoff” the “State” is ‘Not Configured’ then select in the laft edge of right pane “Edit policy setting selecting “ENABLED” and is that the only one to be done this way? There are four (4) other that are set to “Not configured’ in this same area.

Am communicating with my laptop that has Win7 Home Premium SP1 both 64 bit yet my laptop does NOT have this same information in the area you mentioned nor even the “Edit Group Policy” the ‘gr’ brings up NOTHING for editing anything that I have been able to find.

Your last reply you say “Group Policy overrides” meaning ‘Windows Group Policy” not PowerShell’s, right?

I am assuming this is a misspelling…the executable should be powershell.exe or powershell_ise.exe if you are using the integrated scripting environment.

To turn on scripting using Group Policy, do the following…

      1. In the Search box, type “gr” (no quotes) and click on the Edit Group Policy entry.

      2. Expand the User Configuration section and navigate to Administrative Templates and expand it.

      3. Navigate to and expand the Windows Components folder.

      4. Navigate to the Windows Powershell folder and expand it.

      5. Click on the Turn On Script Execution entry and configure it.

      jwood,

Yes it is just a misspelling, my fingers are not very well trained to follow my instructions. My testing as referenced in my last message was to go into “PowerShell.exe” do some HELP requests and follow some of their instructions ’til learning a bit about their format and finally found about the execution policy/w explanations. Now this was within PowerShell, not for Windows Group Policy, at this time do not remember which has priority over the other. Have regained some operations.

      jwoods,

I feel you are on the right track, have just gone through some testing, of my own development on the system with the issues, opened the “PwerShell.exe” file and did some inquiries about the ‘Execution Policies” and partially some good results. Will do what you advised to see where the issue really is located. Still having issues with the “Windows PowerShell Stopped working” box showing up when attempting to open my browser of choice.

Will let you know if any further work brings better results.

Thank you for reding and giving a response

      Sudo15,

That article just may be of some assistance to a Programmer, which I am NOT. What I am looking for is, HOW DO I RE-ENABLE SCRIPT EXECUTION? From what I have found is ‘Execution of Scripts is Disabled’ without any reason nor where to go to re-enable said feature.
