      Leif,

The test page worked OK. I start Britannica directly from an executable, not from within IE. The executable is located on my hard drive…the program accesses the CD for data.

I’ll give your suggestion a try, though. And, you’re not wasting my time. You’re being most gracious in trying to help me fix a relatively small problem. Many thanks.

I give up. Installed the latest QuickTime 5.02 and still no videos in Britannica.

      Rory,

That did it. I tried similar syntax yesterday, but did not put the () after Now, and got the same problem I was having. Thanks for your patience and help.

The other machines do not have any MISSING: references.

I created the real time clock on my main switchboard form using the method described above, and it works perfectly…on my computer only. When any other users open the database, they are immediately taken to the VBA de######, with the message “Can’t Find Object or Library” and “Time” in the code Format (Time… highlighted. Any ideas what is happening?

      Thanks, Rory. Everything’s working perfectly.

      Yes.

I’m using A2K. I want to place a real-time clock on a form. I added a label called Clock and placed the following code in the form’s On Timer event procedure: Clock.Caption = Format (Time, “hh:mm AM/PM”). Why won’t the clock work? When I run the form, I’m presented with an error dialog that says something about a macro error.

I just read at PCWorld’s Bug Alert that Apple just released a revised QuickTime plugin to address problems with the old one not working with IE 5.5 SR2. Maybe that’ll take care of the problem.

Where can you get a timer control of the type you guys refer to?

Under Security, the only plugins option is the use of ActiveX plugins, which is Enabled. I think even Britannica Tech Support has run out of answers. I’m still not sure if the QuickTime plugin is working from within IE…I’ll see if I can find a site with QuickTime content.

That’s a great suggestion. I’ll give it a try. I believe the answer to your question is yes, but I’ll have to check. In case this means anything, QuickTime will work if I double-click on the movie file itself, so that leads me to believe it’s a plugin problem.

Can you split the combined date/time field into separate date and time fields? That would eliminate your problem.

Thank you, Mark. I’ll give that a try.

      Thomas,

Thank you! An easy, elegant solution that completely solved my problem.
