AskWoody LoungerMidnight and Others : When it comes to info on the Pro version of MBAM, perhaps it would be wise to read what they have written at http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=10138 . P.S. I do not know IF their Section J pertains only to Norton 360 or may include other Norton Security “Suite(s)” !?

AskWoody LoungerHi : You would be a lot better off IF you went to the highly regarded BleepingComputer website and attempted to follow what is written in the “Automated Removal Instructions” of the “Uninstall Guide” at http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-security-central

AskWoody LoungerBased on what I read on the Wilders Security Forums, one of the best programs to detect malware keyloggers would be Zemana, which has a FREE 15-day Trial . See the info at : http://www.zemanaantilogger.com/antiloggeroverview.aspx . There is a “Download the free 15-day trial” button to start the process .

AskWoody LoungerAnyone considering using Malwarebytes Pro and a potential conflict with their “main” security program should review the info on the Malwarebytes Support Forums located at http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=10138 . “Section(s) E through K” relate to security programs & the One on Norton is “Section J” . Kaspersky does not have a “section” in this “Topic”, but there may be a “Discussion” elsewhere on this forum about it !?

AskWoody LoungerHi Russ : I recommend you try the procedure recommended by the highly regarded BleepingComputer Site specifically located at http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-privacy-protection .

AskWoody LoungerThe IObit company out of China was caught stealing the programming of at least a couple of companies, including Malwarebytes.org and the HijackThis programming . I would not touch them with a 10-foot pole .

AskWoody LoungerAnd why are you not asking on the Malwarebytes Support Forums, which would seem to be the best place for an answer to your question !?

AskWoody LoungerOctober 25, 2011 at 11:55 am in reply to: Recovering from a virus attack: system drive backup #1303802Perhaps the info in the topic “Preventing Malware and Safe Computing” on the Expert malware removal forum http://www.geekstogo.com/forum , specifically located at http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/topic/225044-preventing-malware-and-safe-computing might help !?

AskWoody LoungerHi All : For those who possibly may be interested, a “Malware Removal Specialist” is one who is a member of either “U.N.I.T.E. ( Unified Network of Instructors and Trained Eliminators ) and/or “A.S.A.P. ( Alliance of Security Analysis Professionals ) . There are Training “Schools” available if interested in joining either .

AskWoody LoungerHi rgn : A good place to start for info about this “Stop” Message would be the following at http://aumha.org/a/stop.htm that says : “KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (Click to consult the online MSDN article.) A kernel mode program generated an exception which the error handler didn’t catch. These are nearly always hardware compatibility issues (which sometimes means a driver issue or a need for a BIOS upgrade). * “STOP 0x0000008e” Error Message During Windows XP Setup {KB 315335} Win XP * Games: “Stop” Error Message That References Nv4_disp.dll {KB 325730} Flight Simulator, other games (wth Nvidia-based video adapter) * Your Computer Stops Responding When You Use the Highlighter Feature & the Font Color Feature {KB 829578} Win XP ” IF this does not give you sufficient info, you should consider asking the “Microsoft Most Valuable Professionals” on the Aumha Forums at http://aumha.net for help .

AskWoody LoungerHi Dougie : Would recommend you ask for help from an experienced, trained, certified, VOLUNTEER “Malware Removal Specialist” found on many Advanced malware removal forums . There are no such Specialists on these Windows Secrets Forums . The one I recommend is at http://www.geekstogo.com/forum . Eventually you would follow the Advice in their “Malware and Spyware Cleaning Guide”

AskWoody LoungerHi Glenn : NOD32 has been an excellent security program for many years . However, I have been using the FREE Avast Antivirus Home Edition since June 2005 and would NEVER put Microsoft Security Essentials on a computer of mine because of their very poor Online Support Forums . For Results of testing done on security programs, see the various ones done by the Independent Researchers at http://www.av-comparatives.org . Their “Whole Product Dynamic Test” is considered the most reliable ( Last I heard MSE declined to participate in this one !? ) .

AskWoody LoungerHi all : The last time I read about Hitman Pro on the Wilders Security Forums it was in a “Development/Experimental” stage and recommended by many knowledgeable people on those forums that it NOT be used .

AskWoody LoungerHi Brian : To investigate programs like Sandboxie, I recommend you read through the numerous “topics” in the “sandboxing & virtualization” forum of the excellent Wilders Security Forums located at http://www.wilderssecurity.com/forumdisplay/?f=98 . This forum has many topics on this program and similar programs, such as Returnil , Powershadow, ShadowDefender, etc .

AskWoody LoungerSpybot has NOT been considered a top antispyware program for several yrs . Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and “SUPERAntiSpyware” are viewed as having superior effectiveness by the vast majority of certified “Malware Removal Specialists” . However, the Experts that advise on the Spybot Online Support Forums are extremely knowledgeable .
