Oh, I see. Makes more sense now, Thanks.

Great to hear Amazon support was able to help you get the shuffle toggle figured out.

      Happy Holidays!

How do you know what order music might be stored in at Amazon?

Maybe I’m a bit confused about what you consider “in the order recorded”? When an orchestra goes about creating an album full of classical music, they may well not be recording the songs in the same order as they were created.

4.2.2.2 is part of AS3356, as far as I can tell, that’s currently owned by Level 3 Communications, Inc.

Yes, the entire set of 4.n.n.n addresses have been Level 3’s since 1992.

Be careful with XCOPY. It can cause short file|folder name alias distortions that can lead to system problems later … sometimes much later. More info here: http://www.pcguide.com/art/xcopyWrong-c.html

September 14, 2016 at 3:09 pm in reply to: Backup Strategy Question #1577733

      3-2-1 Backup Strategy[/url]

A 3-2-1 strategy means having at least 3 total copies of your data, 2 of which are local but on different mediums (read: devices), and at least 1 copy offsite. We’ll use “kitten.jpg” as an example for this scenario. Kitten.jpg lives on your computer at home, it was a picture that you took of your cat in 2012. That’s one copy of the data. You also have an external hard drive that you use for backing up your computer, if you’re on a Mac, you might be using it as a Time Machine drive. As part of its backup process, that external hard drive will back up kitten.jpg. That’s a second copy, on a different device or medium. In addition that external hard drive, you also have an online backup solution. The online backup continuously scans your computer and uploads your data offsite to a datacenter. Kitten.jpg is included in this upload, and that becomes the third copy of your data.

This $20 ASUS burner works with Memorex DVD+R DL discs. (Don’t know about Philips).

Then it should work. Try Verbatim brand discs with AZO on the label, like these from Amazon.

So, you’re drive should have the following three Dual-Layer Read/Write capabilities:

      DVD-R DL
      DVD-RW DL
      DVD+R DL

It cannot however Read or Write to:

      DVD+RW DL

discs. (Only “-” RW DL, not “+” RW DL).

Hmmm, can’t seem to locate the specifications for your drive.

You might try using Imgburn to determine the capabilities of your optical drive. After you’ve downloaded and installed it, start the program, click on “Discovery” (bottom right), then up on the Menu at the top, click on “Tools”, then “Drive”, then “Capability” (down near the bottom).

If your drive has Dual-Layer Write Capabilities, you should see checkmarks next to each of the DVD’s that have a trailing “DL” in their name under the “Write Capabilities” column on the right. For example:

(Note that the above drive does not have “DVD+RW DL” write capabilities).

Btw, SpywareDr made a typo, it’s msinfo32.exe, not .ese

      Oops, thanks Lugh. Fixed.

Who’s the manufacturer and what’s the model number of your DVD?

Click Start, type in msinfo32.exe and press [Enter], then look under Components > CD/DVD.
