Thank you all for your response

Mark, I have tried your options without success, I have on my PC about 150 movie clips (usually funnies that are emailed to me) and these are in the normal formats of Windows Media, Real Player and Quick Time and up until yesterday whichever I selected played in a window on the desktop. Since yesterday if I click on a Windows Media clip I get the WMP symbol showing on the taskbar and I can hear the movies sound but the player does not show on my desktop and hence I cannot see the movie. If I click the taskbar button it turns off and disappears so I cannot even try your suggestions.

I have tried, as I mentioned, upgrading to MP10 but I still have the same problem, I think that I will now try a complete removal and re-installation.

      Cheers

      Thank you Steve

That worked great and returns the mileage for the city selected, in my original question I eluded to the fact that what I was trying to do was to calculate the cost of a 2nd man based on mileage. The result I now get if I slect for example York is 422 which is the mileage from my office to York UK and I can now cost for the 2nd man by formatting a cell to read =G22/50*10 to arrive at the cost, however the minimum charge for a second man is

Sorry Hans I have given you incorrect information to work on.

What I did not realise is that cell H1 in worksheet 2 shows the row number (from the master sheet) of the destination selected in the listbox, but I cannot see how it is getting its values as there is no formula showing. The list box as mentioned shows its source as Master!A6:A405 and is linked to H1, any other ideas please?

    • in reply to: IF statements (a2000) #927419

      Good afternoon

On a multi field form I have 2 fields that take their values from calculations on the form, I have a 3rd field that I would like populated with the highest value from these 2 other fields.

      field 1 TotalActualWeight
      field 2 TotalVolumeWeight
      field 3 TotalChargeableWeight

in the control source property for TotalChargeableWeight I have put

      =IF[TotalActualWeight]>[TotalVolumeWeight],[TotalActualWeight],IF[TotalActualWeight]<[TotalVolumeWeight].[TotalVolumeWeight]

But that gives me an #Error, could somebody point me in the right direction please

      Thanks

      Hi Steve

Thanks for your advice so far which I am trying to understand and process, my knowledge of Excel is limited (extremely) and a lot of what you have advised is quite frankly beyond me. I inherited this workbook with just the first 2 pages and I posted a requested to the effect that could it be made interactive to calculate the rates based on a destination country and then to calculate the rates based on weight and zone, Hans as mentioned kindly supplied page 3 for me which I have been trying to breakdown and understand with limited success.

A2 on the existing calculation page takes its values from the zones page although I cannot see how this happens as no formula shows when I am inside cell A2 (I have tried the help feature for show formulas but it does not show anything), when you type in a country name and press tab the zone in B2 automatically enters its self using the formula =VLOOKUP(A2,Zones!A4:B215,2,FALSE), when the weight is input into C2 and the weight is calculated and shown in I2 (obviously there are other hidden columns D,E,F,G 2 that behave in a similar way to I2) using the formula =IF(D2<=70.5,E2,IF(D2<=99,F2,IF(D2<=299,G2,IF(D2<=499,H2,"Unknown")))).

Putting in the Combo as suggested certainly allows me to select the Country from the Zones page but it does not allow me to tab out of it the update B2 and then enter the weight in C2 to do the calculation.

I hope this makes sense and is not asking too much of you.

      TIA

      Stephen
